JFNew has successfully performed numerous landscape design and construction projects to restore degraded native habitats. Our experienced team works directly with private and public stakeholders, landscape architects, contractors and engineers to restore native plant communities that not only meet their aesthetic expectations, but are ecologically functional as well.
Our experience working with a wide-range of habitat types allows us to evaluate and recommend appropriate ecological restoration methods to maximize bio-diversity. Typical sites include: city, county, state and national parks, corporate campuses, conservation developments, municipal lands and private properties.
A combination of properly designed erosion control techniques and incorporation of native plants can provide a stable shoreline in most stream and lake conditions. JFNew has completed miles of shoreline stabilization projects using bioengineering techniques to address erosion problems. In addition to the aesthetic appeal provided by a diverse mix of native species, a naturally stabilized shoreline can provide habitat for a variety of fish and wildlife species. JFNew can provide design, permitting, and construction of lake and stream shorelines...
JFNew's engineers, water resource specialists and restoration ecologists provide creative, natural solutions to treat and manage stormwater runoff. Our techniques incorporate native plant vegetation, bioengineering, habitat creation and aesthetic improvements. Specific stormwater solutions include rain gardens, bio-retention areas, bio-infiltration swales, green roof systems and native plant buffers.
To create and restore healthy native plant communities, the control of exotic and invasive plant species is critical. JFNew's restoration ecologists are skilled at invasive and exotic species plant control, treatment and removal. Our staff includes licensed herbicide applicators and are complimented with a complete array of equipment to efficiently perform large-scale control projects.
JFNew provides bioengineering services including design and installation of shoreline stabilization and erosion control solutions using biodegradable logs, coir fabrics, field stone and other natural products in combination with native plants.
JFNew's staff includes restoration ecologists trained and certified to perform prescribed burning. Our certified Burn Managers are involved in all facets of the prescribed burning project including preparation of the burn plan, obtaining permits, public notification, site preparation, ignition and control and mop-up.
